Sera Ryu has graduated from Nine Muses (9 Muses)

[THIS ENTRY IS TAKEN FROM MY GOOGLE PLUS ACCOUNT. ORIGINAL ENTRY DATE JUNE 24th 2014. THERE HAS BEEN A FEW CHANGES TO THE ORIGINAL ENTRY.]

My ultimate bias in the entire K-Pop industry, Sera of Nine Muses, is "graduating" or leaving the group and company, Star Empire Entertainment, now that her contract has expired.

Honestly I am not hurt, heartbroken nor upset at her decision. I am actually thrilled as it was something I was hoping for quite awhile. I have been following Nine Muses since their single "Ladies" and it wasn't until I saw their BBC documentary "9 Muses of Star Empire" that I fell for the group. Mainly falling for Sera as her passion and love for music and performance made it hard for me not to start admiring her. The documentary was an eye opener for me (who at the time was still a 2 year k-pop newbie) as it showed the reality of the K-Pop industry which they try to hide it under all the glitz and glamour of the stage, use tactics to draw the audiences attention away from the cons of the industry or just plain be in denial about.

Sera has gone through a lot during her time with Nine Muses (members backstabbing her, being slapped and degraded [other members as well] by her boss in plain view, etc) but the most important thing was her growth over these 3-4 years. She has her own personal YouTube channel called "Sera Ryu"(which I obviously subscribed to the minute I found out about its' existence) where she posts videos of covers, self compositions, and more. Over the past month or so since I subscribed, her followers went up by more than 1000. Her channel shows us what's she's interested in, musically and otherwise, and it made me see that she's found what she wants to do with her passion. I see a lot of experimenting and I think she's loving the challenge and connecting with her fans.

Thorugh all the hardships and member changes, Nine Muses continued to gain ground, fans and popularity with their songs, personas and passion. Digital single "Glue" is the last single for former members Eunji, Lee Sem and Sera (last image).

To end, I will support both Sera and Nine Muses as I love both and wish both the best in their future endeavors.
Sera Fighting! Nine Muses Fighting!!
